About Me
Can you read my mind?
I'm Modar, I grew up in Syria but belong to all of earth. I love Music and Cultures, languages and intellectual DIscussens. Freedom is all what I need to live. I dream of having the chance to see as much as I could in this world. Share as many moments as possible, and experience every new, foreign aspect to life that exists. To learn new languages and get to know cultures and how people far, far away live and interact. I like telling people stories about my country, how it was, how it is now and what I wish for it in the future.
I grew up in Damascus, Syria, the painfully beautiful old/new city. I studied medicine there and learned how to use a guitar properly. These are the two things I can do well. I live now in Dresden, Germany, a city in what used to be East Germany. It sure is interesting to be here. I am always eager to know more about everything I stumble upon, love to have fun and never waste a chance to share a beer!
I'm a smoker, 420 appreciator and animal lover. I like to try new kinds of food, I hate weird situations, I'm tidy and clean most of the time and I like to keep things simple.
Live and let live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This website helped me learn English as I was still in Syria and had so little access to almost everything. I met wonderful people throughout the long journey, until I reached the point of where I am now. I owe the website and those people many things I learned in my life.
Eliza, from Canada, told me about the website on the way back from Beirut, so I joined and I am still a member until now. Thanks Eliza!
I hosted many wonderful people while I lived in Damascus. I travelend in Turkey and Jordan and was hosted by many wonderful people.
Interests
I play guitar and I sing. Jamming is my favorite activity. I learn new words in all languages. I watch movies and shows. I learn a new thing everyday. I forget an old thing evreyday, too. I listen to all kinds of music and cook when no one is watching. I don't read much but read some iconic books.
