CURRENT MISSION
Keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew
ABOUT ME
I've traveled to over 30 countries on four continents and have hosted people from around the world as well. The best travel experiences are definitely when you're with a local, and I love to share New York and see it through travelers' eyes. In addition to loving to check out new places, people, cultures and food, I love film, music, literature, sports, chilling near the ocean and life in general.
PHILOSOPHY
Pay it forward
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have several friends who are very active in CS. While I'm new to the organization, I have had the great fortune to stay with people all over the place, and have hosted more people than I could stop to think of, both friends, friends of friends and total strangers from around the world. I've always believed in paying this karma forward; the world's been great to me when I've traveled, and I've tried to be great to people coming through New York. (I guess people can sense this, given how many strangers ask me for directions on the street.)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
[This is not CS experience, just examples of couch surfing in general, as I'm new to CS.] I recently had friends of someone I knew but had never met personally show up in NYC and find out that the apt. they rented was a scam. I put two of them up that night and found a place for all five of them to stay very quickly. I was hanging out with someone from Finland whom I'd just met in Croatia once, she said her friend would be in NYC a few weeks after I got back, and of course I offered to put her up. These are just two of many, many stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
I honestly wouldn't even know where to start! (Sorry if this is a cop-out, but it's true!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one??? Yikes. Seeing the blue dawn slowly coming over a frozen lake while camping in Tibet. In a totally different context, spending six days in jail in China while doing human rights activism during the Beijing Olympics; that was pretty amazing, depending on how you're looking at the word.
