About Me

ABOUT ME

I always find a way to enjoy what is currently around me. Usually, that means listening well, thinking clearly, and speaking only when the first two have been adequately satisfied. I really like trying anything I haven't done before.
I am neat but have lived with enough people that I have no problems with any sort of neat-freak, slob, conservative, liberal, etc. I am pretty good at finding people's strengths rather than weaknesses.
I lived in Connecticut most of my life but spent some time in Virginia. Now I'm in Beijing, China and loving it.

Also, I make a mean eggs benedict.

PHILOSOPHY

I measure a lot of what I do in terms of how much I am learning. I believe that every situation can offer an opportunity to build on our understanding of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done a lot of surfing and try to give back when I can to fellow surfers. I have been able to host some people in my tiny apartment in Beijing and I like to meet up with people in the city to give them advice on what to see.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have surfed with a couple in Hawai'i, several people all over Europe and some in Asia, who have all been great! I hope to find more people like them.

Interests

I try to keep very diverse hobbies. I play Ultimate frisbee and love studying Chinese, guitar and basic coding. I like good food and beer and learning anything I can get my hands on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like to watch comedies and I can listen to any kind of music (yes, I even enjoy pop sometimes). I like to read anything classical or history related.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Beijing is pretty cool. Had you talked to me a few years ago I never would have thought about going but now I would tell you it has given me what little direction I do have.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think exchanging our ideas can be one of the greatest endeavors of man.
