I'm a 20 year old student/musician who decided to take a break from school for a year or two before I finish my B.A.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to use couchsurfing as a means to travel the world as I think it's best way. In time, once I settle and have a place to offer, I will try to have a couch available for fellow travelers. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was a road trip across I-10 from FL to CA. It's what spawned a life long interest in traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Blood Meridian, The Stranger, The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined, The Great Gatsby, The Road, Slaughterhouse Five, a lot of film texts. I need to find time to read Infinite Jest. I hear that's a lot of fun.

Films: Taxi Driver, Through a Glass Darkly, Scenes from a Marriage, The Silence, Winter Light, Synechdoche New York, Three Colors Trilogy(Blue, White, Red), That Obscure Object of Desire, The Squid and the Whale, The Darjeeling Limited, Boogie Nights, Eyes Wide Shut, There Will Be Blood, A Separation, Cria Cuervos, Uncle Boonme Who Can Recall Past Lives.

Music: I listen to a wide variety of music. Converge, Baroness, Jawbreaker, Latterman, Joanna Newsom, The White Stripes, Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, Coalesce, Botch, Sigur Ros, Streetlight Manifesto, The Mars Volta, Gaza, Dinosaur Jr., Melt Banana, Pig Destroyer, Radiohead, Brian Eno, Dead to Me, Against Me!, Trap Them, Joe Pass, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Mastodon. I could keep going on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made some short films that were in a few festivals. Played and attended more live shows than I can recall. When I was 15, I navigated a small fishing boat through a storm from the Skyway Bridge to the Braden River. There is still a lot for me to do and all the time to do it.
