About Me

Well , I don't love personal statement as it reminds me with application and deadlines. Bon brief , I have been brought up in Ismailia which is small beautiful city on Suez canal. Although , i have graduated from Pharmacy school , i am totally passionate about Social Science. Hence , i have made a radical career shift and worked as researcher in civil society field. I don't know what i will do then but i am sure that , i am not gonna trapped in full time jobs and the so called ' Professional Career path'. I do believe that we have only one life that we should make it enjoyable , meaningful and simple regardless anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

because it is real ! . Simply i hate hostels and airports as i see everything there is just fake. I like seeing how people deal in their normal day regardless the " customer service protocols" . Also i am interested in community organizing and community mobilizing which simply mean that normal people cooperate to benefit each other plus acting as one community without intervening of gov or business sectors. Finally , i don't love sight seeing tourism , i do love getting engaged with people listening to their music , eating local food with them and sharing thought about everything staring from global warming to their preferred comic book at Childhood.

Interests

As i mentioned above , i am passionate about social science. History is my beloved field which lead me to politics , economy and philosophy. After graduation from Pharmacy school , i have studied liberal arts in Cairo institute of liberal arts and science. I decided to go deeper in both subaltern history and anthropology. As researcher in civil society , community psychology become one of my focus area especially it is related to local initiatives like co-working spaces and cooperatives

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer two different (may be contradicted) types of music the first one is old classic music and the second is revolutionary underground music.
In aliening with my passion of social science , i am fan of historical movies and documentaries. Also i do prefer non English movies especially those show stories of normal people in other countries like "Separation " ( an Iranian film) and "Three monkeys " (Turkish film).
Beside scholar articles and books , i adore reading romance novels especially those mixed with philosophy and history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

" Amazing " , i think the only thing that i can call this is 25th Jan Revaluation that happened 4 years ago in My country. I have live amazing moments through and after this event. Starting of chasing our dream of liberty and dignity to really exert efforts to build our post revaluation community. Lucky i had been one of the founder for a cultural group called " El Lamma" which "Gathering". This group aimed to build new cultural elite as well as contributing to shape the newly forming awareness after revaluation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer them my home whether in Cairo or Ismailia. Also i would love to be their guide for other beautiful sites in Egypt like Alexandria , Aswan and Sharm el Sheikh. I would love bring some souvenirs form Egypt especially those related to Egypt's history.

During my visit , I would be extremely happy to exchange experience about my work as researcher or as co-teacher of humanities . In addition to that , i am so interested to about middle east and do share thoughts about this controversial area
