For me, these are things that Ive only been able to understand through travelling and meeting people: 1. Planning the details of a trip reduces the chances of something amazing happening to you. 2. Its good to travel with friends, but you can have the best time of your life travelling alone and meeting people on the way. 3. Travelling is the best way to break stereotypes and overcome fears; learn languages, geography, and history; get out of your comfort zone; bargain; get closer to family (yes); be more patriotic, less materialistic, more confident...it is what makes you live in the present rather than the past or the future!
