About Me
Hey there, I’m Ibrahim — your future host, hiking buddy, or chai-time storyteller in Kabul 🇦🇫
I’m a tech guy by profession (Senior ICT Officer with international organizations), but a curious soul and cultural explorer at heart. I’ve spent years working across Afghanistan and the UAE — not just fixing servers, but also teaching students, supporting community projects, and learning from people of all walks of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe the best travel experiences happen over shared meals, spontaneous walks, and honest conversations. Whether you’re into tech, history, mountain biking, or just want to understand Afghan culture beyond the headlines — I’d love to host you, show you around, or simply swap stories over tea.

Music, Movies, and Books
Hike in the Hindu Kush mountains 🏔️
Cook traditional Afghan dishes (try my mantu!) 🍛
Talk about tech, education, and how we can bridge cultures through travel
Visit local bazaars, mosques, and hidden gems off the tourist trail
Practice yoga or hit the gym (yes, even in Kabul!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve taught cybersecurity and IT skills to young women in rural Afghanistan — using solar-powered laptops and makeshift classrooms — because I believe knowledge shouldn’t wait for perfect conditions.
In villages with no electricity or internet, we charged devices under the sun, shared one screen among five students, and turned curiosity into code. Some of those students now work in tech. Others teach their own siblings.
But my favorite moment? Watching a 17-year-old girl deploy her first firewall — then laugh and say, “If the Taliban couldn’t stop us from learning, a power outage won’t either.”
That’s the Afghanistan I know.
That’s the story I want to share with you — over tea, on a mountain trail, or in my guest room in Kabul.
