ABOUT ME

Like all people of my generation, living in post-Soviet states, I was born in a country, which no longer exists and for about two years of my life I was a 'person without citizenship'. I consider myself truly a 'citizen of the world', or a global nomad, as I have lived, travelled and studied in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan,the United States and the UK at different points in my life. I have recently moved to live and work in Bishkek again. As I am obsessed with Argentine Tango and want to promote this beautiful dance in Kyrgyzstan, I am especially keen on hosting tangueros and tangueras, who are willing to give lessons/master-classes for local enthusiasts of social dancing.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a humanist-feminist-agnosticbutgoingforatheistsceptic. I believe that we only have one life and try to live it in the most decent, fun and fulfilling way that I know and can imagine.

Argentine tango is my recent obsession, vampire stories and make-over shows fascinate me, bubble-baths are the favourite way to have some me-time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have not gleaned the meaning of life or won a Nobel prize, neither have I discovered the cure for cancer or been able to catch a bullet with my teeth. I have never gone commando or swam with dolphins. I have not had a NDE or been able to perform magic. But I have seen kindness of strangers and butter-yellow crescent over mountains and summer pastures of Song Kol. I have learnt how to assemble IKEA furniture and not to be afraid of being alone.
