About Me

Musician, Geek, Scientist, Footballer, Rider, Vegetarian, Shinobi. That covers what I am! :D
A research scientist working in the field of computer vision and machine learning in IIIT-Hyderabad, India. I am also a semi-professional singer and guitarist and take to music and sports in times of distress. I also play football (soccer) for my University Team. I love to meet new people and would tag myself an extrovert. Also have been called a people-charmer (that's the meaning of my name in Hindi actually!) by my peers. I am travelling outside my country for the first time and would like to make the most of it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am self-funding my travel to Europe. While the travel expenses, to the conference in Nancy-France I am presenting my research paper in, are covered by the research lab I work for, I would also like to travel the cities nearby Paris. But being extremely short on funds, if someone can help me out with a place to crash, that would be a life saver! I came across this idea when I met a few people in Goa who were couch-surfing at a place I booked via airbnb.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country. Specifically inspired by Led Zepplin, GnR from the oldies. Like Ed Sheeran in the newer singers.

Movies : I love movies! Anime, action, romance, comedy, musicals, sports, sci-fi, everything!

Books : I only like reading where the books leave a huge impact (generally making me feel sad) on me afterwards. Like the works of Khaled Hosseini - The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns. Also loved the writing of Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a self-taught musician and athlete and I'm pretty proud of myself for being a semi-pro at both these interests of mine :)

I also have a YouTube channel that I just started, check it out : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC50THOni7LWr2EHE_mMZG9g

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell stories. Lots and lots of stories. From my travels across India - a plethora of culture, religion, music and traditions to explore! Also, did I mention me being an old school romantic? Bollywood gets some romantic benchmarks set right! Lots of those stories to share as well :D Also, being able to play the guitar and have a decent voice to go along with it never hurt anyone :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can get you food! Indian delicacies! I can cook a bit too if I can find the ingredients.

If this question also asks about sharing of amenities the host might offer, I am fine with sharing everything that is considered the norm in a new country. No issues whatsoever :)
