About Me

Hoi, Namaste. I was born and brought up in India. I moved to the Netherlands (I had never planned for it) in 2018. Previously, I lived briefly in the States and Belgium in academic capacities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love history and culture and strongly believe in community-driven efforts, such as Couchsurfing itself.

I look forward to meet new people, explore cities and listen to the stories of people around the globe.

For couchsurfers looking for a host, please text me with the keyword “Hakuna Matata” (if I’m hosting). That way I know I am not being spammed. :)

Interests

These days, I spend more time in studying ancient Indian scriptures and philosophy. A typical day in my life starts with some spiritual practices and yoga.

I love to let my fingers dance over piano and bansuri (Indian bamboo flute), sometimes strum some 6 strings. I am not much of a movie-guy but I enjoy watching series and movies with friends.

Books have always been my closest friends. Books that provoke deep thoughts and require contemplation are my favourite - philosophy, biographies, psychology, yoga, theories in art (e.g. music). Some books that have been influential in changing course of life: Wings of Fire, The Art of Happiness, The Joy of Living, When Breath Becomes Air, The Holy Geeta: Commentary by Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn about your stories, your culture, your city's history, your work and your life in the city you live in, what do you miss, what's great about your city. Tell me something I wouldn't find on Lonely Planet!

Coming from a traditional Indian family deeply immersed in Indian lifestyle and philosophy, I have been taught to treat guests as Gods. I hope to serve you well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A place to rest, vegetarian food (usually Indian), books and instruments (if you want to play yourself).
