About Me

Hello! I am a data scientist from the US living in Berlin. I was born in the UK but grew up in California, and my family is Indian, so its somewhat complicated. I moved to the Netherlands in August 2017 and now Berlin in May 2018. Working to advance my skills as a data scientist and spend a lot of time traveling and eating good food.

I love building things, both with my hands and with software. I read a lot, mostly biographies - I like to see how other people make decisions and face adversity. In terms of my work, I am most interested in technology, how its affecting us and how can we build a future with a more level playing field in terms of opportunities and knowledge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm mostly inspired by Wandering Earl and the book "Vagabonding: An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long Term Travel" by Rolf Potts, and "How to Travel the World for Free" by Michael Wigge. I like good people, authentic experiences, and widening/changing my perspective on things.

Interests

I read, I cook, I walk a lot, I love building things.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Travel is a metaphor not only for the countless options life offers, but also to the fact that choosing one reduces you to the parameters of that choice... In knowing your possibilities, you know your limitations. Stop looking at your journey as an apocalyptic one, and start enjoying it on its own esoteric terms." ~
Vagabonding: An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long Term Travel - Rolf Potts

“Maybe that’s enlightenment enough: to know that there is no final resting place of the mind; no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom...is realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go. -Anthony Bourdain”
