About Me

I'm from a city called Lucknow in North-central India and am a daytime architect and a part-time ghost-writer, writing mostly about tech innovations and science fiction. Apart from discovering new music on youtube, bandcamp and soundcloud I like to walk around places and take pictures; these two interests keep me active on Instagram.

I worked for about four years in Ahmedabad and Mumbai as an architect and designer, before quitting in 2017 to do some freelance work on the side, while I prepared my applications for a Masters degree. As a result I'm moving to Boston in August of 2018 to start my higher studies in design at Harvard.

You can find some of my work here:

I haven't travelled a lot, except within India to lesser known, nondescript places; mountains and deep forested areas are my preferred ends for a sojourn. Cycling and walking provide me with the right pace to discover new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found the prospect of meeting travelers from similar and different cultures interesting. I was previously introduced to Couchsurfing by a friend, however, I haven't had the chance to explore its uses much.

Interests

I like knowing about how things work around us. My interests include (but are not limited to) physics, astronomy, history, microscopy, music, writing, walking, running and architecture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of the good music that has been on my person in the last few months:
- Balmorhea, Steven Wilson, Opeth, Eddie Vedder, Derek Trucks, Debussy, Wagner, Anoushka Shankar, Dave Bruebeck quartet, Danheim.

Movies I can rewatch:
- Man from Earth, Wes Anderson movies, blood diamond, movie buff.

Books I'd recommend:
- about halfway through One, No One and One Hundred Thousand, Lord of the flies, King in Yellow, great expectations, among many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled about 900 kms in the rainy season along the western coast of India. It was a good and bad idea at the same time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some of the science behind Ted Chiang's short stories. And also how time works as fourth dimension in relativistic physics. I have also come to understand that I know a lot of tiny (often inconsequential) things about irrelevant subjects; some find that interesting while others have told me that I waste a lot of time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a little about physics. Also movies. And books. Peace and quiet. And some really good music.
