About Me
CURRENT MISSION
becoming a social doctor and travelling - cross the date line by boat
ABOUT ME
I'm a medical student at Bologna University - Health is not only a physical state, but also a mental and social state.
I love plants, I would like to have a big garden (as I had when I was a little girl) with a peaceful green space to read books, invite friends and enjoy the nature.
"Unfortunately" I live in a big and chaotic city like Bologna, so I try to create a little green area inside the house - I also live near green parks.
One of my interests is RECYCLING and REUSING things found out of the garbage: I am not a dirty person, I just try to take well preserved things thrown away and give them a second birth: why should you pay for new ones when you can take them for free?
I'm also interested in FREEGAN but never experienced yet.
When I have time I also go shopping in farmer's market to buy fresh and local products of this area, in the concept of DECREASE. I can show you around if you're interested ;)
I live in a really pretty area in Bologna, there's great variety among people, usually foreigners. That's why I feel at home here, the diversity is my hometown.
I love travelling, I've been to the States twice (San Francisco, San Jose, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Berkeley, Sausalito, New York, Washington, Miami), I've also visited most countries in Europe. It's my passion.
I have a great passion for AFRICA, I've been one month in Tunisia and I'll be back next summer
I usually work as baby-sitter and pizza cashier to help my parents with my studies and expenses.
I love reading books and magazines in my spare time (not gossip magazines for sure, that's rubbish).
I'm interested in MIGRATION, GLOBAL HEALTH, SOCIETY AND HUMAN RIGHTS, PHOTOGRAPHY (http://www.flickr.com/photos/27135132@N08/)
I have NO television, the first step to have a good education is to get rid of it.
PHILOSOPHY
Almost everything comes from almost nothing (Amiel)
Love is a form of prejudice. You love what you need, you love what makes you feel good, you love what is convenient. How can you say you love one person when there are ten thousand people in the world that you would love more if you ever met them? But you'll never meet them. (Bukowski)
Perhaps only in a world of the blind will things be what they truly are.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've made a great trip only by train and boat till Tunisia, all alone. I met many different people, I experienced my country deeply (Italy) and then I took a boat from Sicily to Africa and stayed there one month. It was a really lonely but deep trip I enjoyed in every step. It's so great to travel alone and discover yourself.
I travelled around Europe in Interrail and I just loved it!
My friend and I ordered the dinner in Poland, without knowing polish, at Kentucky fried chicken (the menu wasn't written in english but in polish!) two bowles of fried chicken that was sufficient for an army!
I hated that junk food and we gave it away to the homeless at the train station. They were so enthusiastic of that gift ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am ready to learn everything from others.
I am ready to share our knowledge about experiences of life and share my house too.
I don't want to teach things, I prefer the peer-education in everything we do! Teaching is like "Ok I know and you don't but I am here to explain to you". It's a kind of superiority.
We think "Sharing is caring. Let us enrich ourselves!"
