About Me
CURRENT MISSION
figure out what to do with my future
ABOUT ME
Hey. My name is Magda and I'm just sticking around in Manchester after finishing my studies here. I love traveling and meeting new people, it just makes me happy. I'm generally a happy person and I love my life.
I want to learn as much as possible about different cultures and just different people. I can never get enough of learning so let's meet and teach me something about your culture, or your viewpoint or anything interesting really. In exchange I can do the same. And/or we can just have a good time together.
PHILOSOPHY
Now is the only time when living actually happens.
It's so easy to get stuck thinking about the past or the future and even though sometimes it's obviously fine (you can't live never planning for the future and sometimes it's just nice to think about past experiences) at other times it can be quite distracting from what is happening in the current moment, which is really when the living happens. I attempt to live in the now as much as I can, not overthinking the future or endlessly reliving the past.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not had much experience with CouchSurfing yet but I'd love to change that^^
Interests
I love learning foreign languages and learning about foreign cultures. It is amazing how sometimes things that I'd think were obvious seem to not be obvious at all for other people. Or the other way around. Learning about the differences and similarities of various cultures is just fantastic.
Also, I love dance^^ Watching it, doing it everything is great. These days I'm doing contemporary when I can, and I go to a ceilidh whenever it's on. In the past I've done yosakoi, belly and a bit of ballroom.
I also enjoy good fiction. A good book, film, comic, you name it. If it has a good story, the chances are that I'll like it:)
And of course, I love good food. I like both cooking and eating, well, maybe eating a bit more then cooking;)
Oh, and recently I've started to learn to play a guitar, I'm still not very good at it but it is good fun:)

Music, Movies, and Books
My recent favourites include:
-TV series: Doctor who, The big bang theory, Game of Thrones
-Films: AI, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunger Games
-Books:Pratchett, Sapkowski, Ursula LeGuin, Song of Ice and Fire,
These are just examples but I don't want to make a massive list;) Generally I like science fiction and fantasy the best but any good story can keep me interested. I always appreciate a recommendation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the amazing things I've done is going to Japan for a year abroad and joining a yosakoi team and with them I performed at the Kouchi yosakoi festival, the biggest yosakoi festival in the country, which involved dancing two full days morning till night. It was a great experience and great fun as well, especially when we got very seriously rained on;)
Another one, just happens to be related to dancing as well, I performed with a group of amateur dancers at Biennale de la dance in Lyon. It felt awesome and what was even better was that even after the performance has finished we kept dancing while going back to the train station. We couldn't just walk, we were so full of energy and excitement that we just had to dance back
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you, to a certain extent at least, about my home country (Poland) or other places I've lived in(Japan,UK). I can teach you Polish, some English and maybe a bit of Japanese;) I can teach a little bit of dancing but I have to warn you that I would not consider myself a particularly good dancer at this stage. Also, I could share a recipe or two.
I always want to learn about other people's cultures. Or a new kind of dancing. Or improving some dance style that I've already done. These days I'm very much in learning to play a guitar as well.
