About Me

Look at my references and then: meet me! Coffee, beer, wine, smoothy - whatever weird beverage the hell you like! And then you can decide if you like me aswell...

NOTE: I'm currently a bit unstable - shifting between Europe, Central Asia and just arrived in New York. I'm looking forward to meeting new and familiar faces in the city that never sleeps but unfortunately won't be able to host for a while.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to know how society works. As much as I love the ivory tower, the best way to find out is and remains the dirty table of my kitchen, the chat in a bar/coffeeshop/park and the back of a crowded bus/train!

So far I've had beautiful encounters through CS - some of which turned into friendships for life. Help me continue like that - it's always about the questions - never about the answers!

Interests

politics, gender theory, postcolonialism, history, sociology (just look around - that's it!)

music and weird literature (original language, crazy philosophy, perfect thoughts)

traveling, visiting friends, learning about other people's life, feelings and political situation

and I love eating but don't really like cooking (which, you already guessed, causes problems sometimes), coffeeee!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not that much of a film-knowing person, and with music I'm just more of the rock-jazz-reggea-punk-kind but Berlin made me love electronic stuff too!

But I really love books!

At the moment I'm reading:
- Dostoyevski: Die Brüder Karamasov
- Tschingis Aitmatov: Kindheit in Kirgisien
- Alice Munroe: Dear Life
- Eva Illouz: Warum Liebe weh tut: Eine soziologische Erklärung
- Emmanuel Carrière: Limonov

And I don't believe in this whole "favorite"-thing...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

[2009] Rooftop in Berlin after eating bate from dumpsterdiving

[2011] Bathing the fountains of Aix at night

[2013] Mountains in Kyrgyzstan. Greeting the morning from the top of a Ferris Wheel in Uzbekistan.

[2015] I've survived London!

there's always something amazing if you dare to look!

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach knitting, French and German, good Latte Macchiato and how to find things in absolute chaotic surroundings!

Would like to improve my Russian, learn Turkish and/or Kyrgyz and how to drive metros (as a driver of course!)

I'm collecting the word for squirrel in all languages (but the rule is, it can only be passed on by people, no internet, no books) so will be happy if you help me extend my list.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, Uzbekistan

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, United Kingdom, United States
