About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Returned to live in Thailand after 2 decades in the US. I'm on a mission to live and grow as much as possible.

ABOUT ME

I've lived in the US (Vermont, Washington DC, Florida), in Italy (Ferrara) and in Thailand (Bangkok). I worked as a mathematics teacher in the US where I bought my first house and learned so much about DIY projects...it's still a huge interest of mine! I have hosted people through CS before but also through Airbnb. I've learned that a lot of times, people are more willing to stay at my house if they pay me than for free. Interesting! I've since moved back to Thailand where I will continue to teach and travel as much as I can.

I am an avid salsa dancer and student of meditation. I recently started Muay Thai and am just as addicted now as when I first started salsa dancing! I recently bought a scooter to zip around Bangkok and am still alive, for now. I enjoy traveling, reading, learning, growing and experiencing new things.

After not being able to contribute a couch to this community for many months, I'm not back up and running!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job with no plans for the future. I felt that it was the right thing to do at that moment in time because, even though I enjoyed my work, I felt like I was getting used to what I was doing and it's important to me to try new things, learn new things and not get into a pattern. I don't want to be the old person asking, "What if..?"

So I was self-employed for a year and realized I wanted to return to Thailand where I spent some formative years of my childhood. And I did that as well. At 30, I moved back to Bangkok. Once I made the decision, I put my house up for rent, found a property manager, made arrangements for my car and cats and found work here in Bangkok. It's been a big scary move for no big reason other than it feels right to do these things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Meditation practice, salsa dancing, good conversation, stories in general...I'm easy going, trust worthy, we'll have a good time if these are things you appreciate in a person. :)
