About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living and working in London. Planning a trip to Germany and Scandinavia in late spring 2013. TRAINING FOR PARIS MARATHON APRIL 2013!

ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly mid-western US girl who likes adventure. I love spending time with other people, but am also happy alone and have no trouble entertaining myself.

Right now, I'm riding the wave of exploring/having fun while also furthering my career. I plan to keep traveling and nurturing my inner-child forever, but am at a good point to balance work and school, studying a topic that really interests me.

I'm also working on furthering my Spanish, French, and German skills via Paul Noble audiobooks, random movies, music and books, and, of course, practice with other people. I don't get enough of the last one, though, and am eager to find others to chat with! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy the journey. Cherish others. Breathe deeply. Don't let your brain take over. Eat good food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Between 2008-2010, I stayed with a few CSers in France and Switzerland and then hosted a couple groups back in Tulsa, OK. From 2010-present, I've been on a bit of a CS hiatus, as I've had many temporary housing arrangements and also rented rooms from families that weren't too keen to have strangers. (I did a very poor job of reading messages or requests during the past two years- apologies!)

I've had nothing but wonderful experiences in the past and would like to give it another go in 2013.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As mentioned previously, have been hosted 3 times in Europe and have hosted 3 times in the US. All great experiences.

Interests

I have a myriad of interests, but believe that people, relationships and experiences are the most important.

Topping the list in no particular order: cooking, health/wellness, sustainable argriculture, urban planning, design, bicycles, music, drawing/dooding, etc.

I would like to spend time farming/gardening and also learning how to play the ukulele. (I just bought one for myself as a xmas present!) I also would like to learn some different styles of dance! :D

Music, Movies, and Books

I like them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011, I walked the Camino de Santiago from Pamplona to Santiago de Compostela as a sort of personal journey. It was so serene and nourishing to spend 30 days basking in the sun, moving across the Spanish countryside. Beautiful sights and beautiful people.

This has whetted my appetite to do other walking/hiking/backpacking trips in the future:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm working on some languages and would love to practice with others. Aside from that, I'm a beginner ukulele player, intermediate piano player and love to sing, though I'm not great. I love to cook with and for others, am happy to clean and can sew up things that need mending.

I'm self taught at everything listed above, so I'm hestitant to sound like I'm confident teaching these things. However, I'm enthuastic and enjoy co-operating with others. So I'll do what I can:)
