About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world and meet intriguing people along the way.

ABOUT ME

I love the sky when it rains, flowers in full bloom, and leaves when they change color. I am quite observant when it comes to minute details and as a result, am easily entertained simply by looking at the world around me. I am curious, thoughtful, and compassionate. I enjoy and encourage artistic expression in all forms.

PHILOSOPHY

Personally, I think life is what you make it. For the most part, we control our own paths. Call me idealistic, but I like to think that good intentions do pay off eventually. Also, I think living a fast paced life is unnecessary. A wise man in Florence once told me that "if you walk too fast, you may miss out on something really important." After that day, I began to slow down quite a bit and discovered many little things I had overlooked. Lastly, I believe we are all interconnected and have more influence on the world than we sometimes might think. This seems very fitting because Couch Surfing is all about making connections and learning from one another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I fully support the ideas behind couch surfing, and although I have not officially surfed someone's couch as of now, I imagine it's a great way to meet really cool people. As soon as my living situation allows me to lend my couch to others, I would love to do so, in order to participate fully in the "CS Project."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I will update this section after next week, for I will have stayed on one, and possibly two different couches!

Interests

I am a big fan of parks, trees, blank sketchbooks waiting to be filled, garage sales and/or thrift stores, live performances (music, theatre, dance), museums, and much more.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for movies, I would recommend Inland Empire, Donnie Darko, Run Lola Run, Amelie, Satyricon, anything Woody Allen, Hitchcock for thrills, and David Lynch for absurdities. As for music, I'd have to say my taste is pretty eclectic. My favorites at the moment include Air, Robert Francis, Koop, & Nouvelle Vague. Last but not least, reading! I love autobiographies, memoirs, and letters. Wasted by Marya Hornbacher is a favorite autobiography of mine, which I highly recommend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would have to say traveling in general is pretty amazing. I feel very fortunate to have seen all that I have seen so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to help people discover the characteristics of themselves they never knew existed.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Greece, Italy, United Kingdom
