About Me

I am from one big fat Irish family and that seems to infiltrate into every part of my life and I love every part about it! I grew up in the wine country and had a very country mouse childhood turned city mouse early adulthood with 3 different colleges and 7 different addresses that led me to my beloved Berkeley. I lived in Southern Spain, to hide from the inevitable future and made my way to New Orleans, Louisiana, with my partner in crime, my now husband Flynn. We recently boomeranged back to California's North Bay Area, but we continue to be constantly enthralled, challenged, inspired, saddened, motivated and moved every day.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to open my arms and door to whoever decides to travel in my neck of the woods to give them the time of their life while showing them the pieces of the city that have come to shape me. And I hope to find the same in my travels.

Live concerts, the burn in your arm after 1000 yards, hot tea, smoothies, burritos, orthopedic shoes, taco tuesday and margaritas at Park Chalet, September in Sonoma, a sunny day in San Francisco, sweatshirts, sweat pants, fuzzy socks, riding bikes without a destination, dreaming in Spanish, telling jokes in Spanish, picnics with wine, big dinner parties with family and friends, spending time with my brothers and realizing there is no where else I would rather be, baseball games, jam sessions with my dad, dancing with my mom, listening to an album for the first time, the feeling of relief after taking your heavy backpack off, keeping the notes my students write me, letter writing, bargain shopping, hiking in a damp forest, being out on a surf board away from the crowd and breakers, climbing the rocks at Pebble Beach, childrens books, poetry with a beat, walks through the vineyards when it is rainy, dancing so hard you are sore for days afterwards, karaoke, wildflowers, tofu, hummus and onion sandwiches, music and poetry night at Hoyt, learning to knit, unconditional love, having the only light be not by a simple switch, falling in love with a new city, conversations that last hours, dancing in the kitchen with my Flynn.

I'm really good at teaching little kids to float on their backs. Considering the population of 3 year olds on CS might be limiting, I can offer knowledge and love for music, literature, food and some KILLER dance moves. If I was to encounter someone with an equal love and appreciation for any or all of these things, we might just be a match made in CS heaven.
