Overview
About Me
Hi! I´m 24-years-old, from Upstate New York, but I´ve been living in Spain for three years now (I´ve lived in Cádiz, Soria, Almería, and now Madrid, quite the mix ;) ) I feel most at home when I'm abroad, and I'm a big fan of the color green. Those who know me usually describe me as friendly, open-minded, and very laid-back/go-with-the-flow. My twin brother says I´m goofy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I´ve used the site a few times now and it´s been a great way to get to know places I probably would not have checked out if I hadn´t of found a couchsurfing host there. I really like getting to know a city through people who live there, and making quick friends, and couchsurfing is great for both of these things. :)
Interests
I really enjoy traveling (shocking!) and learning about new cultures and languages. I like having fun but also talking about serious and interesting topics and getting to see the world through different points of view. I'm also a big fan of music, and I sang in a university choir in Soria. I'm from a really small town in the foothills of the Catskills, so doing outdoorsy things like hiking, kayaking, or biking are some of my favorite activities.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to sing, so I tend to favor music with female vocalists that do really interesting stuff with their voices. Two of my favorites are Regina Spektor and Sara Bareilles. I grew up with a twin brother who was really into music, so he's also influenced my tastes a lot, and from him I've been introduced to some great music like Wilco, Dawes, and Neko Case.
My favorite book is The Pillars of the Earth, and I've recently enjoyed Station Eleven and Water for Elephants.
As for movies pretty much anything but horror. I jumped during the original Night of the Living Dead.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While studying in Perú I volunteered in a zoo for about two months, where I was bit by a monkey, a parrot, an ostrich, a toucan, and some more monkeys, and I didn't bite a single one back.
