ABOUT ME

I am a wife (of 35+ yrs!), mother of four awesome young adults, follower of Christ, and a Labor Delivery RN .

I grew up in Southern California in the 60's and 70's, went to as many concerts as I could afford in LA, and went to college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where I met my love, Rob.

We moved to Alaska in 82, built a cabin in the woods, cooked on a wood cookstove, hauled water, and used an outhouse! Eventually, after starting to have kids, we acquired all the conveniences of modern living, moved to town, and stayed 16 years before moving to Spokane, WA.

Over the years I (we) have raised bees, built houses, remodeled houses, taught piano, led drama teams, counseled youth, done Cub and Boy scouts, traveled, and raised our family.

PHILOSOPHY

I am treasured and loved by my Creator and want all that I do- washing dishes, cleaning, Nursing, playing, laughing, weeping to be done with Him in mind.
God made you, wants your heart, and wants you to know Him. He wants me to accept you as you are, without expectations. He wants His love and grace to be poured out upon you through my actions, acceptance, love, kindness, and hospitality.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Opening my home to CS members whenever I am available! I also refer those I can't accommodate to others in my area that I know are hospitable but might not be CS members themselves.
We have also couch surfed in Canada, met up with other CS'ers in Hawaii, and hosted the Spokane CS group potluck.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had great experiences hosting, surfing, and meeting new people through Couch surfing.Our daughter and I surfed our way through Alberta Province over 10 days. We've had folks from many countries in Europe, and lots from the states stay with us.

I love crime dramas, spy and suspense movies, chick flicks and musicals. My favorite musicals include Wicked, Rent, Les Miserables, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I love music, and am willing to listen to most- but not rap, acid, or heavy metal- just gives me headaches! I like Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Elliot Smith types,and older soft rock stuff like James Taylor, Loggins and Messina, CSN, Simon and Garfunkle.
I really like to read, but not mainstream stuff- mostly obscure science journals, astronomy books, travel journals- Discovery channel stuff!

I can teach you to make the easiest (after a little practice) and best pie crust on the planet:) If you're interested in helping make a meal together, we love to do that with new friends.
