Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've heard nothing but good things about couchsurfing from friends, and as a young person trying to travel frugally (or for free, whenever possible), I want help other folks do the same. my love for chicago knows no bounds, and it's my hope that everyone who comes to this city loves it, too. I'm big on DIY shows and live music, and I keep pretty close tabs on local happenings so I function as my friends' unofficial event planner - let me know what you're into and what sort of music/art/entertainment/activities/scenes you're looking for, and I'll happily give you recommendations!

Music, Movies, and Books
oh wow too many favorites to list! music taste ranges from can to popcaan, but I'll listen to (and likely enjoy) pretty much everything. I did radio in college and go to shows a lot lot lot, recent ones I dug were elysia crampton, solange, frankie cosmos and divino niño! I'm currently reading bell hooks' "all about love" and a collection of first-person narratives focused on chicago public housing. haven't watched a full film in a long time but my roommate has an excellent collection of VHS tapes to choose from for home viewing!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm sort of reluctant to answer this because it feels as though there's a lot of weight attached to this entry (and because I've had lots of experiences I've loved!). I'm trying to create lots of amazing experiences all the time! I'll tell you about em in person :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I love knowledge and skill-sharing - I am a generalist about a lot of topics (re: literature/music/art/etc.), but I'm always looking to learn and am currently trying to deepen my creative practices (writing and maybe music), as well as contribute more in the realm of community organizing. I'm particularly focused on immigration justice and affordable housing, which are both big issues in my neighborhood. tell me what causes are meaningful to you! how can we help each other get free!
