ABOUT ME

Hi there !
I'm Monelle, I come from Belgium and I've been traveling for almost two years now. I am sociable and I love discovering new things.

I'm really concerned about anti-racism, anti-capitalism, feminism and rights for animals and nature (i'm vegan), because the world is going mad right now! An other world of peace and community is possible :)

I think we have to stay always curious !

The couchsurfing is a nice idea because you travel, you meet new people and you discover the lifestyle of each country.

I like everything about art : photography, painting, drawing, music, theatre, puppetry, circus, ...

I'm really fascinated about all the subculture (squat, street-art, communities, ...) and alternative lifestyles, I want to discover the different way of life in all cities around the world.

I am also very interested in art and history of each countries. For me it's important to always be curious about the world around us and stay creative.
And I don't want to travel only as a tourist, I want to participate and meet people.
I love photography and for the moment one of my favorite hobby is urban exploration (visiting abandonned places and take pictures of it).

Musica, film e libri

Music is really important for me. I like a lot of different music, like reggae, balkan music, fanfare klezmer, cumbia, ska, electronic, rap, swing, electroswing, folk, ... I play ukulele and i like to sing too.
There are too many films so I could say all those I love, but for exemple : Fight Club, Requiem for a dream, Kids, This is England, Transpotting, Freaks, Into the wild, Buffalo 66, Good bye Lenin, Sound of noise, Captain Fantastic, le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain, ... and movies of Gregg Araki, Emir Kusturica, Tony Gatlif, Harmony Korine, Jim Jarmusch, Quentin Tarantino, Larry Clark, Michel Gondry ...

I also like to read, my favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray, Running with Scissor, Into the wild, Even Cowgirls get the blues, Le tour du monde en stop ...

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Seeing whales, puffins and reindeers, climbing on the top of a volcano and see some geysers in Iceland ! Doing Iceland by hitchiking was a wonderful experience :)
