Overview
About Me
I am an artistic entrepreneur based in New Orleans. (@monicakellystudio)
I'm also a flower essence therapist, using energy medicine to heal. I love my city and all of its unique flavors, and recently bought my own studio home here (named Amma). It's required a total renovation, which has been quite a wild ride! That experience has made me a student of architecture, restoration and culture.
I love traveling/getting to know fellow travelers, and look forward to welcoming guests to my funky town.
When I'm home, I work hard and don't go out much, but I do roll with the seasons of New Orleans. I turn up for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Halloween, and hibernate/work/travel during the summer and winter. Running my own business is demanding on my time and energy so during busy seasons I don't have a lot of time to entertain. However, I appreciate interesting and respectful guests and am more than happy to point you towards the best spots in NOLA!
When I'm traveling, I keep an open mind, flow with the moment, and soak up as much as I can from every place I visit. I enjoy drinking tea and chatting these days more than going out and getting smashed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been doing short term rentals for a while, and would like to try something new. I definitely enjoy meeting new people and hosting guests. I look forward to exchanging energy and talents with interesting characters, and hosting them in New Orleans.
I believe that the travel gods bring beautiful synchronicity when you open up and trust the unfoldment of every experience. It's always beautiful to see the world through the eyes of another person from another culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my artistic talents, and my knack for healing as well. I paint murals, make signs, and do graphic design. I secretly like doing dishes. It's like a relaxing hot bath for my hands.
