Hi all...my name is Monica and I am new to this site, hence that is why I don´t have any references yet. To tell you a bit about me, I am from Puerto Rico, but grew up in the US Virgin Islands so I speak both English and Spanish. After high school I moved to Boston to study psychology and child development and after 11 years I moved to London to study international business. I moved back to PR to start my own business and soon after moved to NYC. My urge to move to Europe grew and after 2 years of living in NYC I moved to Madrid where I am currently an English teacher and now I am on a quest to travel as much as possible and see the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Part of the reason why I move so much is because I love learning about new countries, cities and cultures. I believe that one truly doesn´t know a culture unless you are emerged in it and become a local. Having the opportunity to ¨live¨ in a new city and hang out with locals will only enrich my travel experience.

I am new to this site so I´m waiting for references. Still I hope you would consider me until I build up my profile and network.

Besides traveling, I love photography and since last year I created my Instagram account with all of my travel pics. You can view it @lepetitetraveler. I also love to dance, go to festivals and concerts, oil paint and volunteer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I don´t listen to much music, but I tend to go with pop and Latin music. I love romantic comedies- my favorites being Only You (filmed in Italy) and Hope Floats.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say that my recent three moves to places I´ve only visited once have been pretty amazing. In an average of four months I have managed to sell or give all of my stuff and start a new life in a new country. It certainly hasn´t been easy leaving your old life, comfort and friends, but the excitement of doing new things keeps me going and I´m pretty sure I´ḿ not done yet!
