Hi guys! I am Monica, I come from Barcelona. Now living in Singapore. After a break in my professional career and spent some months travelling around Asia, I decided to settle down in Singapore and set my own company. Spending all my free time travelling :D

At the moment, I am travelling a lot for work so my place is not much available. But ask me and if I'm here more than glad to have a drink! Or if I am travelling somewhere nice to hang out there!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience in Couch Surfing is both hosting travellers (you can see their opinions in my profile, I can be trusted!) and been hosted during my trip. They were great experiences, meeting new people and sharing their life stories :-)

Interests

What I like the most is travelling, reading, listening to music, cooking, cultural & art, yoga, swimming, diving, hiking, nature, sustainability, never stop discovering! I have to admit I am quite a Asia freak... :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: indie, electronic, soul, funky, local artists, rock, new age, oldies and new trends. Pick'n'mix: Muse, Beirut, Goldfrapp, Miike Snow, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Rollings, Zee Avi, MIshima, The Divine Comedy, Propellerheads, MGMT, Foster the People....
Books: Asia literature (Murakami, Kirino, Zhongshu..) and most European & American (Houllebecq, Saramago, Salinger, Hesse...). Favourite topics: IIWW, travelling and historic, most novels. Now I have to admit I am completely hooked to Games of Thrones (even I do not usually like fantastic genre) and obviously marevellous classics such Dracula, Frankestein, Moby Dick...
Movies: miscellaneous, but always try to watch them in original version language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Each place I visit I try to spend some time with local community, in order to learn from their experiences, practises and ancient knowledge. I remember when I stayed in the north of Thailand learning how to sew with the Akkha tribe, or in Costa Rica how they develop their community...in Japan how to draw some japanese kanjis or how to cook sushi, in India how to practise yoga...
During my trip around Indonesia I enjoyed every second in this lovely country. Its people, food, places it's just amazing. A must visit!

Teach, Learn, Share

Taking into account life is a continous learning experience, so far I could achieve some acknowledgements: languages, cooking, oriental nutrition..
I am very interested in learning plastic disciplines such drawing, playing music (I am such an awful singer, even I love karaokes), working with hands -plants, agriculture..) Hopefully I will be adding more and more...
