Overview
About Me
Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I love traveling, spending time outdoors, and learning about different cultures and places. Recently decided to go back to school to persue a career in healthcare. My goal is to go to grad school and earn a Masters in Physician Assistant studies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I studied Anthropology as an undergrad, so I love observing and learning about different groups of people, what makes them unique, and at the same time very similar to others. I've always felt that reading is an amazing way to get a taste of the world, but it's important to actually go out there and meet people from all walks of life. Life is so short that I want to explore and the natural and man-made beauty this world contains.
Interests
Traveling, swing dancing, buying old records, vintage shopping and society events, architectural tours, camping, swimming, food, museum going, and just sitting and chatting with people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Swingers (1996), Sergio Leone films, Hitchcock films, almost anything with Jimmy Stewart, Paul Newman or Charles Bronson.
Music: Jazz, Swing, Mambo, 50s, 60s Rock and Pop, Rockabilly, Latin Pop and Rock .
Books: Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, Great Gatsby(cliche, isn't it...), mostly anything by John Steinbeck
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Mayan ruins, love them! Although each one I've visited has a special place in my heart, Tikal (in northern Guatemala) was by far the most memorable of them all.
Traveling to Mali (West Africa) is also up there (see Great Mosque of Djenne)!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy cooking for people, as well as learning new recipes. Favorite recipe you ask? It's hard to narrow it down, but here are my top 3: Cochinita Pibil, Chicken with Pesto-Mushroom cream sauce, and Turkey breast in Mole. These aren't really 15 minute meals, so I tend to cook them only for special occasions. I love my kitchen appliances and hope that one day I can learn how to make fresh bead, pasta, or sausage. If I had all the time in the world, I'd most likely spend my time making and eating dessert. Yes, I have a sweet tooth...
