About Me
I'm passionate about traveling and I hope to discover as many places as I can in my life. :) After traveling the world for quite a bit I have been calling Italy my home for a while now. Which is not only delicious but also fantastic. I have the Dolomites right in my backyard.
Eventhough I live in an amazing place I am still very keen on traveling and exploring other places in the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people through couchsurfing! I have had some great experiences so far and made great new friends. I like to travel alone but I don't like to stay in hotels as I hardly get to interact with local people. I like meeting locals that can tell me about their city and mostly tell me about all their great experiences they have had. Also I find that when I think back of my last travels I always remember the times when I was with friends or hung out with locals whereas the sightseeing bit I mostly forget about. I really enjoy when I am sucked into a culture and feeling a part of it!
Interests
Obviously, traveling! :) But other that I love cooking, doing sports (hhaha while updating my profile i realised tht the fact I love sports is false. I did try to convince myself to love them but I failed. ;) Unless you count hiking under sports; that i love!) , meeting my friends and cooking for them. I am lving in Italy and I have learnt how to cook quite well. I love inviting friends over and cook all together while having a drink and catch up. I love spontaneous trips or activities with friends from hiking in the mountains to checking out a new restaurant or just grabbing a beer. Oh and board games! I love them. Or trivia night. ;) ( Lekker gezellig! ;))

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: depends on my mood! From jazz to blues to sometimes even a little bit of pop.
Books: I like reading nonfiction mostly as they give more insight in some current topics. Also just reading whatever Italian book I can find as I am still learning the language. The Swedish detectives I happen to enjoy a lot as well lately. Just finished The eight mountains by Paolo Cognetti and i can highly recommend it!
Movies: Jeux d'enfants, Intouchables, La vita e bella, Zwartboek. I love a good night in the cinema watching a blockbuster as well. (as long as there is popcorn I am fine really. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working in a summercamp in upstate New York, a beautiful experience that changed my way of thinking forever and made me meet some of the best friends in the world.
And of course burning man.. WOW! What an experience that was. haha. Certainly a once in a lifetime must do thing. CRAAAAZY!
Packing up my backpack and deciding to travel around the world without any plans and just making them day by day.
Being able to speak Italian almost fluently.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to ride a bike the Dutch way in a crazy city as Amsterdam. ;)
Or teach you how to make Italian dishes. (Or dutch... but those arent that popular.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of travel stories to share, fun time. Im always up for a laugh while that is just by having a chat at home, going out, or go do something active I don't mind!! I always offer to cook for my hosts as I love cooking and at least giving back for the hospitality. Im super flexible and really dont need much. Even the floor is fine.
