Hello, my name is Monika, I come from a very small town in Bavaria, Germany. I will come to the end of my studies, I just have to write my master-thesis in educational science and so I want to start a road trip through the westside of the USA before work life starts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm totally new to couchsurfing, my trip through the West of the United States is my first experience with couchsurfing, so unfortunately I have no references yet. I'm now in America for about two weeks and I am so lucky that I still have 6 weeks left to travel around. To do this trip by couchsurfing is really one of the best experiences I've done so far. I want to meet some nice and inspiring people, I want to see how people in America live, I hope to get to know some new friends around the world, of course I hope to improve my English, and perhaps, you can give me some insidertips for our roadtrip? ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the moment, this trip to America is one really amazing thing!!
But perhaps the best, but also craziest situation was when we arrived very late in Los Angeles, had no couchsurfing-host and no Hotel booked and then there was a guy on the street, saw us two backpackers and wanted to host us, but unfortunately he had no couch to stay. So he just gave us his keys for his mobile home two blocks away and we were allowed to stay there for three nights!! I cant believe that he helped us without knowing, he just saw us walking on the street. That was really really amazing, he was such a friendly and nice guy! He will always have a place to stay when he is coming to Germany :-)
