Overview
About Me
I am not your typical couchsurfer, but I think the concept and the possibilities would open both of our worlds if we met. I recently retired from teaching languages and other subjects in a US middle school. I taught English at a university in Zhengzhou, China and traveled all over the country. Traveling is in my blood and will continue to do it for as long as possible. I am the mother of four children and the grandmother of sixteen. My life is full and I like to meet friends all over the world. I love sitting, quietly watching people and just soaking the feel of a place. I also love visiting with locals as I stay in new destinations. I have met incredible individuals along the way that have enriched my life in countless ways. I am not in the position to open my home at the moment, but hope to do that in the near future.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am hoping to meet more people in various setting other than the high end hotel where I find the same type of clientele with which I do not have much in common. I hope to travel Pacific Islands in the spring and would like to meet more of the locals as I go along. I am planning of continuing my travels also in other parts of the world in the near future. I hope that couchsurfing will help me accomplish my desire to meet people and learning from them and their perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love the Beatles and Paul McCartney. I love the PianoGuys and a variety of other genres, but not one genre in particular.
I love action movies and Star Trek, Bond, Mission Impossible, Bourne, X-Man, Avengers series. Also like a good comedy or drama.
I love action/crime/thriller books from Iris Johansen, Lee Child, David Baldacci, Greig Beck, Diane Capri, Kendra Elliot and much more.
I love a good romance and historical fiction. I also read biographies and spiritual and health related topics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sincerely don't think of myself doing anything amazing, but I do grab the chance of doing things that are interesting and I try to not let fear of the unknown stop me. My friends and family think that I am daring in some way since I do most of my travels alone and in places that are sometimes uncomfortable to them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am not only a teacher by trade, but also by inclination. By the same extend, I consider myself a life-long learner and everyone that I meet teaches me something. I am more than willing to share what I got with whomever needs it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Having lived and traveled in many countries and having taught thousands of children and adults might be a starting point to share life lessons.
