ABOUT ME

Myself (Mon) and my bestie Jemma are two fun and friendly Australian girls roadtripping from the West to the East coast.

We've got six amazing weeks to see as much as we can, have as many amazing experiences as possible. We're hoping that meeting people along the way will give us even more of an authentic, truly American experience.

We are genuine and down to Earth, and always up for a chat. We will try anything once (perhaps with the exception of weird food!). We both have a great sense of humour, smile all the time, and do not take life too seriously.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are looking for more than just a free place to stay. We want an experience, and we will come into your life with open hearts, ready to trade lots of stories and laughs.

We're independent travellers that do not need hand holding - but we do welcome company at every stage, as well as suggestions (locals always know best!)

We are prepared to bribe you with baked goods.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've never done it before! But please don't let that scare you - we are respectful and will treat your home as if it was our own. Even the most experienced couchsurfers had to start somewhere, right?

We're looking forward to meeting some lovely people and spending time with them at their home, then paying on the favour in the future.

Monique is a journalist and a lover of vintage clothes, vegetarian food (especially haloumi) and music. Jemma is a podiatrist who loves all things nature.

We're both a bit dorky at times, and won't apologise for our love of the TV show LOST. We're also into reading, photography, friends, family and music.

We tend to like bad movies that we can laugh at over a glass of cheap wine. Music wise, live is best. Monique is into blues/roots/reggae/rock, and Jemma's more of a punk/rock kind of girl.
