About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Working with horses... support better horse management based on ISES principles. 😍 Also, I’m an artist, writer and volunteer.

ABOUT
I love the feeling of being in flow, merging in with the rest of creation, the way you feel when peacefully fishing on open water, when painting, or creating a new character who begins to write himself to your arm and brain's great surprise. I love travel to meet new people, see wonderful places architectural and natural, notice the variants of light and sky and cloud. I love to work towards tolerance, intercultural dialogue, respect of biological and cultural diversity. I love to create.

PHILOSOPHY

It's all good.

I could go on and on here, but that is the
nutshell.
Beyond and within it, there is the hermetic: As above, so below: All experience is a meditation leading to bliss.
But hey, it boils down to the basic nutshell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet you. Currently not hosting, sorry-
Right now my son is at home and there is no extra space. Once I clear out a few rooms I can host again. But I’m happy to guide you to some of the cooler less touristy places or meet over coffee and give you lowdown of Sligo’s best. Also can go riding with you if you want company along the beaches and hills on horseback. (Stables charge about 30-35€ an hour)

Be sure to check out the Dunes bar in Strandhill ( food available Thursday to Sunday) This pub has great craic (Irish style fun) open mic on Monday’s, free gourmet donuts aka ‘Dunenuts’ on Sunday afternoon. Lots of surfers hang there if you want advice on the waters.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meet/ guide/ advise I’ve lived in Sligo for decades so can advise on interests: arts culture history archaeology foodie nature beaches adventure sports yoga pubs

When I host: I live a ways out of town so you would need some kind of transport .. its 6 miles to town, I go in most days so could drop someone, but those who are self sufficient for travel are most free here to enjoy nearby Lissadell, Benbulben mountain, and Yeats'grave in Drumcliffe, all within a mile and a half.
No smoking indoors please.
Casual clutter ambience.
If I host you would have a small room to yourself in my home.
I have 2 very small dogs who are super friendly with people.
My children are adults usually not around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great exchanges. I enjoy both couchsurfing and hosting people, its excellent. For the past few years my Couchsurfing activity declined as I had no regular Internet access.
Finally back!!! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

yes, of course, interested in all these. Big movie fan. In music, the best of all kinds. The movie Transcendance is good. I'm a Shakespeare fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

O so many, how to choose one???? Living in an eco lodge in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest for months :)
um, unh... Seeing Houston Space Station, NASA headquarters? Seeing the Pieta, and the Sistine Chapel ceiling? Visiting Sicily. Wow. And Venice. Holding a baby Koala Bear in Sydney? My father saying (and this sounded wacky at the time) one day the computer that filled a whole building would sit on a desk, and everyone would have one and all the computers in the world would not be so powerful as one on a desk (and he was right). No maybe it was living in the East Village in the mid 80s, or meeting some amazing people, from mary Robinson to John Cleese and
Nic Roeg. Giving birth was a pretty peak experience. Seeing Tuthankamun's tomb, Placido Domingo asking me to serenade him, no wait, that was kinda embarrassing. um, Well this is a long list. Lots longer than what I put here. Got to say, every time I talk to a person I love, it is pretty high up on my list. My friends/family are pretty cool. My former pet ferret and my dalmation and my cat were good too. Now I have two wee rescue dogs. Scuba diving with manatees would be up there. Hmm. I will have to reflect and return here....

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to be around positive happy interested active people with joy of life and appreciation for life too; share company of the above.... I can show you Chen style 19 step tai chi if you like :)
