About Me

After living in the US and in Switzerland my journey brought me back to my origins. I started a new job and moved into a bigger appartement with my fiance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am not hosting since my boyfriend and I are very busy and hardly have time for ourselves. But if there is time I'll meet up for coffee or a trip to the castle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have quite a few Surfing experiences so far (unfortunately some didn't leave any references :/) and I have to say it was awesome (except one in LA)! My first CS Surfing experience was one of the best which is probably why I continued doing it: I stayed with my mum at Aarons und Russells place and we loved it! My mum is glad we did the couchsurfing even though she didn't like that idea in the beginning ("staying at strangers places?! NEVER!").
I hope I will have more experiences like this and get to know a lot of people all over the world!

I only hosted two times so far and both Hosting experiences were amazing!

Interests

The thing I love most is taking care of people and traveling -> I would love to travel 24/7/365! If traveling itself would be a business, I would definitely do it! ;) Besides that I love to listen to music. Every now and then I like watching a movie, but it really isn't too often.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pretty much every type of music and movies! With the books it is a little bit more complicated. I definitely love romantic and adventure books. Sometimes I have a phase in which I like to read thrillers. With all of the other types I have to start the book and after a while I can tell you, whether I like it or not xD. But if I buy a book, I will read it. No matter what it is like. Or I will give it away as a present. I've never owned a book I didn't read. Before I went to the states I couldn't even imagine I would like reading english books, but now I wouldn't touch a german book before an english one ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've done was going to South Africa with my first hostfamily to visit my hostmoms family. It was really awesome, I loved the people, the area with its beautiful nature and of course the weather. It was the best opportunity I ever got. When would you ever go to South Africa and see the "real life" and not the tourism?

To this fact I have to add my au pair experience. It is very nice to be abroad for a year to see a lot of new stuff and have a break instead of going in to the next study-phase. I was really lucky with my first hostfamily and we got along very well (maybe that's also why I got to go to SA with them). I went to the states again as an au pair about 4 years later and after a complicated story I ended up going to a family that lived about 45 min from my first host family-crazy and fun! This family was amazing! I really love them as my family! I'm so glad I got to be with them for 8 month! Being an au pair has changed me a lot and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think it is very important to share everything you know. And because of the fact that everybody is different, you'll learn different things from different people. You also teach different people different things. That is, why it's kind of hard to describe what you want to learn or teach or share. There will always be a bit of the culture you can share or your feelings if you like to :P
