About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be a better person.
ABOUT ME
We're tired of CUT AND PASTE REQUESTS . Don't expect an answer.
Otherwise we're not evil, just tired of ppl sponging free digs and food without any sense of reciprocity, decorum or sharing.
I am a Social Worker working with children/adolescents and families in schools, and my wife, Trish, is a Librarian.
We live to travel! We're always scheming and plotting our next adventure.
You can read about some of our travels on my website at: WayneNgWrites.com/travel-blog/
We try to live for the moment. That means slowing life down, hanging with quality friends, spending time with our nephews, or just staring off at the fish pond in our garden.
PHILOSOPHY
We're all entitled to be happy, but obligated to be decent to one another.
The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page. (St. Augustine of Hippo 354-430 AD).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Kind of a self-evident question but we both host and surf, although far less surfing nowadays. We're rather disheartened that most surfers are more interested in free food and accomodations than the spirit of a cultural and human of exchange.
If making a couch request, please indicate what it is about our profile that fits for you.
CUT AND PASTE REQUESTS WILL BE IGNORED. Nowadays that's 90% of all requests.
While we can offer a clean, safe and comfortable place, tell us what you can offer us? If you expect to be driven around, fed and catered to without some form of reciprocity (we've had many of those), this isn't the place for you.
If you're hosting us, you can expect gratitude, respect for your home, appreciation for opening your castle to us, at least a meal cooked by us or paid by us, and an invite to canoe or ski with us if you allow us to reciprocate.
Show us you've read our profile by including the magic words...SLAVE to MONKEY

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: foreign and indie films and a few Hollywood ones too. We love going to the movies when we are in other countries to see what they eat and what the experience is like. In China they had rainbow coloured popcorn and plush seats.
TV: Breaking Bad, The Wire, Six Feet Under, Getting On (U.S ver), Game of Thrones, Coronation Street, Masters of Sex, Transparent
Music: Alt-rock, Jazz, world music.
Books: Tolkien, Rohinton Mistry, Anne-Marie McDonald, Robertson Davies...way too many to list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We could list a few things and places, but nowadays being there for others seems extraordinarily simple yet priceless.
Teach, Learn, Share
Stories of real people.
We believe that sharing a meal is one of the basics of hospitality exchange and hope to cook you at least one delicious healthy meal.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A night out, a home cooked meal, travel stories and intelligent conversation, genuine appreciation for your trust and hospitality, an invite to stay with us, and hopefully laughter:)
