My real name is JiaLin Hau, I usually go by Monkie. I am 21 years old, graduated from UNH recently. I like sports, I did a couple of full marathons, I also play table tennis, basketball and computer games. I am currently waiting for my VISA to update from student to worker so that I can work in the state. My mathematics is pretty good, and I have passed the Actuarial Science exam P, if you need help in Mathematics I might be able to help with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning to stay around the state while waiting for my VISA to be updated. Since I just graduated from college, I could not afford to stay around the state for 2 months without having a job, and thus I am here to seek for help and I also meet new friends.

I am planning to be a host when I get a job. I think this application could help and meet a lot of interesting people. Looking forward to meet all the amazing people in this community. : )

Interests

Travelling has always been my interest, once I have the ability to be a freelancer, I will work while travelling around the world.
Long distance running, I am 21 years old and I have ran a couple full marathon. Recently, I did not join much race because I run out of money to participate. However, I am down to run if you want a running buddy.
Swimming, I like to swim a lot. However, I never learn to swim properly, so I could not swim very fast but I can swim for a very long period of time without stopping.
Basketball is one of my all-time favorite sports. I played since I was in middle school, I am not super good at it but I can play fairly well.
Mathematics, I like to do math and problem-solving. I think mathematics is a very interesting subject that connects us with our day to day life.
I used to play trumpet and bake, before I went to college, I played trumpet in my high school band and I bake a lot. However, I did not bring my trumpet to the state and I dont have time to bake, so that I havent been doing those for a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like classical and jazz. Music that helps me to relax when I do math or coding. I am interested in rap and pop as well, I usually listen to those when I run so that it can keep me in the beat and a pretty good pace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have run a full marathon when I was 18.
I have memorized 100 digits of pi accidentally.
I climbed Mount Kinabalu, Borneo and also Mount Washington, Huntington Ravine.
