About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am very excited about travelling around Brazil and learning as much as I can about this country with which I have already fallen in love. I hope to improve my portuguese so that I can fully appreciate the culture, humour and art of the Brazilian people.

ABOUT ME

I hope that I am a fun, liberal and tolerant person. I pride myself on my stubborn positive attitude but beware... it annoys some of my more cynical friends. I love to talk and find out about other peoples lives... a bit nosy I guess!

I love travelling because it combines so many of my favourite activities. Meeting people from different parts of the world and finding out about life in new countries gives me a better perspective on my own life. Emersing myself in a new culture and language offers us a much more intimate and fulfilling experience. I always love to include some action in my travelling... whether it be surfing, skydiving, windsurfing, climbing mountains and full moon parties ;)

I love the city in which I live... although we definitely could do with better weather. We more than make up for the odd grey day with our appetite for life. Every culture and nationality can be found in London and it is a city that is constantly moving forward. There is almost too much to see and it can sometimes overwhelm the new visitor. This makes it even more valuable to have a local guide. I would love to show some couch-surfing buddies my favourite spots.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Treat those you meet, on the way, well and you'll leave a trail of smiling faces and have a happy life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have recently started to meet and surf in Brasil and have only had positive experiences so far.
When I return to London I will relish the opportunity to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed for a while in Porto Alegre and met up with some cool guys in Floripa but still pretty new to this game.

Interests

I love the outdoors which is the one real disadvantage of living in London and is why I love to travel. I enjoy trekking, surfing, windsurfing, cycling and football. I enjoy talking to interesting people and learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like good music, films and books and try not to limit my diet to those genres that have pleased me in the past. I love to hear about what excites other people so that I can share in their interests. If I'm pushed for my favourites: Movies would be The Shining, Shallow Grave and L'Apartment; Music would be Laurent Garnier, Kings of Leon and Florence and the Machine; Books are The Selfish Gene, To Kill a Mocking Bird and The Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favourite travelling experience has to be the Annapurna circuit in western Nepal: good exercise, happy people and breath-taking views from a pass at 5,500m.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak English as my native language and have recently being learning how to teach it as a foreign language.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, India, Israel, Kenya, Nepal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
