About Me

You could say I'm on a spiritual path. I've been traveling for about four years now. It started with leaving my home in Austin in my car with no plan. I camped all across the SW and west coast and ended up living in SF for a year. I wwoof'ed and did a vipassana retreat.

Next I jumped on a plane to Japan and traveled around Asia for a year taking my yoga teacher training.which was a big catalyst for change. I became vegan which started to lift the veil. I did my permaculture design certification. I discovered fasting and shamanic breath work and sun gazing. We're capable of amazing things when we realize what's possible!

PHILOSOPHY

I do not place a high importance on material goods. I feel the goal of any life should be to pursue discovery and non institutionalized education. Try everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted and I have surfed. You may go a year and not really remember much of what you did, but you can recall every moment of a trip. Everything is so exciting and new. I like hosting because I get to be a part of that memory and shape it. I get pleasure from showing someone a breathtaking sight or introducing them to the best fill in the blank they've ever seen. Making friends this way is great because you can get to know someone pretty well, quickly. Surfing is great for the same reasons. I've been welcomed into family's homes. I've had unforgettable experiences like onsen with three generations of a Japanese family or karaoke with people from around the world.

Interests

The things that make life engaging for me are exploring new places and learning new things. I took a class on the basics of construction that I loved. After years of working in an office, I've realized that I need to create something tangible. I need to work with my hands. Grow my own food. Become autonomous, responsible. Lead, teach.
