Hi, my name is Thomas and I am a student from Austria. My field of study is Sustainable Development, therefore I am very interested in all kinds of sustainability movements across our planet. And these movements often start very small, that is why I am also interested in people. People are reservoirs of stories, which I want to hear. And I like creativity in all its variations, pictures, drawings, sculptures, poems, stories, dancing, acting, movies. And I also love to move, which means, all kinds of sports like running, snowboarding, hiking, cycling, climbing, ultimate Frisbee,...
And nature is the place where I can do all that, therefore I consider it as a part of myself. And I take care of this part.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Simply because I want to get to know the world. I wanna go out and meet people from other places, hear their stories and telling them mine ( if they want to hear it ;-) ). And I also want to show myself that there is nothing to be afraid of. The world is like a mirror of yourself - I guess I heard it from my parents but anyway, time to proof it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have some songs on my phone which I can show you. They are there since a couple of years, and still I love them.
I like watching movies and reading books, but its the same than with music, I can't remember their titles, however I remember parts of the movies and books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cycled across Europe to study abroad, because all other modes of transport cause considerably more CO2 emissions, which lead to "human made" global warming, which causes drought in the south and melting poles in the north, which causes habitat loss to many animals and threatens people around the globe in a variety of ways.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach/learn/share you about sustainability, about fire fighting, the German language, about climbing trees, about trees, about playing the accordion, 4 chords on the guitar (very important ones :-) ), about the freedom you get while riding your bike, about Austrian apple trees and about the delicious Austrian dish Kaiserschmarren.
