About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My New Year's resulution is to see at least 3 cities within Germany that I haven't visited before and to ideally visit 3 countries I've never been to before this year.

ABOUT ME

I am a huge fan of travelling. However, I rarely get the chance/time lately. So I decided to make some time and visit at least 3 cities I've never been to this year.

I am a student and I used to major in Film in my Bachelor's studies. I enjoy directing and finished my Bachelor's degree with a major in script/visual design and directing. Now I'm studying Leadership in the Creative Industries for my Master's, which is more of "a little bit of everything" in terms of today's media culture.

I am easily impressed by new surroundings and generally everything as long as the person introducing me is fairly excited about it, too.

I laugh a lot and have a very infantile yet sometimes really dry sense of humour.

I find it very important to leave a good impression and am very self-concious in a very non-spiritual kind of way.

PHILOSOPHY

I think I found out that if you're comitted enough, everything happens to fall into place somehow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to be a good guest to anyone I'm staying with and a good host to anyone who's staying with me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing up until now was amazing. I made some real friends that I'm looking forward to seeing again.
Had some very good experiences with last-minute requests! I will always try to host anyone anytime!

Interests

As a student of film, I love watching movies. Any kind of movies, really. I enjoy strong visual concepts, but also interessting storylines.

As a lover of the visuals, I love photography, love to take my camera with me on trips and really like browsing through other people's photographs especially of their travels.

I haven't had the chance lately, but I really enjoy a good book.

Also, tea. I really like a good cup of tea.

On that note, I LOVE to cook, try out new things, stay simple, for friends or just for myself.

When visiting a city, I like to get lost, walk everywhere and find interessting places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-wise I love myself a really nice, relaxed Indie track. (Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon, The Kooks, Death Cab For Cutie, Bonobo, Kings Of Convenience, Jose Gonzales, ...)

Lately, there has been a lot of 80s music going on. I don't mind any kind of music, really. One thing or another might get annoying, but you know. It's music.

For going out, I recently found an interest in Techno/House/Electro. Mostly Deep Tech/Deep House. Or Nu/Italo Disco and lots of African 70s stuff (Ebo Taylor, Fela Kuti, William Onyeabor)

I like movies like Moonrise Kingdom (Wes Anderson), Memento (unexpected ending, weirdly catching storyline), My Neighbour Totoro (anything from Hayao Myazaki), Her, Call me by your name (most beautifully shot), Baby Driver (awesome editing and OST).

I like movies for a lot of different reasons. I normally don't enjoy comedies, but there are some that are actually funny.

The books I most enjoyed so far have been by Margaret Atwood (Oryx and Crake, The Year Of The Flood), Nick Hornby (A Long Way Down) and Richard Bach (Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Illusions: The Adventues of a reluctant messiah), but there are many others that I enjoyed no less.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My gap year in Australia. (I will probably never not tell a story about that.)

Travelling with friends.

Living away from home. (Amazes me more often than it should, I guess...)

Studying. It's awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always keen on learning this or that word in a foreign language.

I can share some of my cooking skills. Be it the food or the recipe. (I'm a very decent chef)

I can teach you my favorite German words, that won't get you anywhere, but that are fun to say.

I can teach you how to lay in bed all day and be lazy (my talent for that tends to get noticed). Not on holidays though. There I tend to see 5 cities in one day if I get the chance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

There's always food. Food is a good thing to share, because there could be a lot of differences between my and their preferences and still that could result in amazing meals, that both of us enjoy. Also, I like to think that it's the least I can do when I stay at someone's house for free.

Stories. It's always interessting to listen and I enjoy dwelling in my own or somebody else's past for a good storie's sake.

A good laugh.
