About Me
Hello! I'm Monty, a civil engineer currently pursuing a master's degree in sustainability. I have a passion for discovering new hidden spots in the city and enjoy spending quality time with friends. A true coffee enthusiast, I am deeply interested in exploring various coffee-making techniques. In my quest for a healthier lifestyle, I regularly workout and strive to make balanced choices in my daily routine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am here on Couchsurfing to make new friends while exploring new cities. Although I've been a member for a while, my busy schedule has kept me from traveling as much as I'd like. Now, I'm ready to embark on a new adventure and connect with fellow travelers along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a big fan of pop music, especially soulful, powerful voices like Faouzia. I love songs that blend languages, like Turkish artist Selin’s English-Turkish music, or Jordanian artist Noel Kharman’s Arabic-English medleys. While I don't read much since I find it hard to focus, I’m passionate about movies and series. Sci-fi and fantasy are my go-to genres—think magic, witchcraft, vampires, and superheroes. I also enjoy comedies because who doesn't love a good laugh?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most fulfilling experiences I've had was volunteering with Maya Vakfı, a foundation supporting Syrian refugee children. I spent two years as a Trauma Informed Schools (TIS) Program field volunteer and worked at their child and youth center. Eventually, I became a senior volunteer, helping train new volunteers alongside psychologists. This experience allowed me to support children in overcoming trauma and gave me invaluable insight into resilience and healing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Honestly, I am an open book and I enjoy helping and sharing in any way possible. In return, I would love to learn about your culture and traditions, experiencing the essence of the countries I visit and cherishing those memories forever.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a good time by exchanging cultures. As a third culture kid, I have a rich tapestry of experiences to offer. With my family roots in Syria, being born and raised in Saudi Arabia, and having spent the past 8 years living in Turkey, I bring a diverse cultural perspective that I am excited to share. Additionally, I love to cook for people and share food, bringing flavors from around the world to the table.
