About Me

laugh often. care deeply. forgive quickly. live simply. give generously. love always.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travelled through New Zealand with my brother using his couch surfing account and had an amazing experience. We loved not only seeing the beautiful country, but also meeting local people. I think the best way to experience places is to meet and hang out with locals. I want to know where your favorite place is to go and what you like to do, not just what a guidebook can tell me.

Right now, due to traveling a lot for my work, I don't have a "home" to call my own, but one day hope to share the same hospitality and meet other travelers like I have experienced.

Interests

I love sports and doing almost anything outdoors-- hiking, swimming, rock climbing, playing soccer.... I'm also pretty content to relax inside and play cards or curl up with a good book or movie on a cold day. Mainly, I'm up for trying new things and seeing new places. To say traveling is hobby of mine is an understatement.

I'm passionate about global health and injustices in the world, and run a nonprofit providing health education to people in underprivileged areas globally.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are too many favorites to list! I pretty much can enjoy all types of music other than screamo, and am always up for a good book. I love movies, specifically those that make you think or movies that are great stories about human triumph.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba dived at the Great Barrier Reef!
Spent 3 months living in a rural area in Nicaragua. Some people might not understand why that's amazing, but it was one of the best and most challenging experiences of my life. From the work I did there, I have started a nonprofit and now am able to do this work in many places.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is why I'm on couchsurfing--to teach, learn and share! My favorite thing about every host my brother and I have stayed with is learning from them and seeing the world through their eyes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share with you more about my culture and my experiences where I've been. And, I hope to return the favor one day and have you come stay with me in the United States.
