About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Fun fun fun!!!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in N.Ireland but left in my early 20's to go traveling. I haven't been back to live there since seeing that the world outside is a much more exciting place for me with so many different people with so many great stories. As I can't travel all the time, I love meeting and helping other travelers, having them around is the next best thing to traveling myself.
I love meeting new people and hearing about their experiences and opinions.

I love being spontaneous and rarely bother planning as I always change my mind at the last minute. I love the randomness of traveling more than anything, how you are in a position for so many new experiences, sometimes helpless to it, adapting and learning. The good and the bad are all positive in a way.
I believe that all people are born good and I try to apply this in my everyday life.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is to be enjoyed.... to the max. Opportunities fly past us everyday, grab some of them and indulge, you may never get another chance to experience many of them.

My friends are my most important things in the world and I want billions of them (yes, some of them really are things).

I try not to worry about things, I've been in so many dodgy situations that I've learned that everything always works out in the end. I try to get through life with laughter, it's much more fun.

Before judging someone, walk a mile in their shoes....so that when you do judge them....you'll be a mile away....with their shoes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've kinda settled down in Amsterdam and I've got great friends to share with any visitor. I know my way around the city very well and know lots of great places to have a drink, chat and watch the world go by.

To be honest, the touristy stuff isn't really my specialty, I try to show people how I would like to be shown around, meeting people, places not in the book, nice bars.

I'm pretty easy going with who I let stay, I've hosted loads of first-timers and had a load of fun but I'm not really into the "copy & paste" requests from people who don't really care who they stay with. They are always kinda obvious and can be a a bit tedious to reply to. A little bit of effort makes it all the better experience and if you really check out the profiles we all have a better chance of getting along. So a sneaky trick to prove you've had a proper look at my profile: please put the word "zatte" in the subject of your request. Cheers!

I don't always have a place for somebody to stay but I almost always would like to meet for chat, so get in touch!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a lot more than surfed. Still meeting new inspirational people all the time. It's incredible how many brilliant people are out there. It never ceases to amaze me.

Interests

I play a bit of squash and I've got a talent for avoiding going to the gym. I don't like watching sports but love pretending I know about them in conversation. I love to party and really really hate when they end. I play the drums now and again but my enthusiasm out-weighs my talent. I love nothing more in the world than sitting with a beer, having a chat with people.
