About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To feel the wind on my skin blowing in various places all over the world. To be constantly happy!

ABOUT ME

More and more amazed at the world's beauty! My own life's destination is to blossom out and appreciate human beings and what's common for everyone of us - a smile :) Pleasantly lost somewhere between the pages of my favourite books. If given milky coffee and a warm smile by someone, I can forget the world in a great conversation. I find it quite difficult to collect the essential things about me but let's just say that I am a bibliophil who likes spring, chocolate, melons and honey and would never refuse a cup of black tea with lemon! But to dream in a little, cozy corner of my mind, is the total opposite to my "dark side", which consists of multiple fears - I am afraid of flying, of lifts and things in a category "never done before". Happily, I am forcing myself to cease the most pressing ones!
My luggage and people are my home. To look at the sea is my personal catharsis.

I am also a law student focused on international law, now on my exchange year in Salzburg.

PHILOSOPHY

"Happiness only real when it's shared" (from the movie "Into the wild")

"Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You are on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet
you are too smart to go down a not-so-good street.

You won't lag behind because you'll have the speed.
You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you'll be the best of the best.
Wherever you go you will top all the rest.

Except when you don't.
Because, sometimes, you won't.

I'm sorry to say so but, sadly, it's true
that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you." ("Oh! The places You'll go!" by Dr. Seuss)

Interests

These things are actually very simple in my case - mostly you can see me reading, writing, listening to music, having a conversation, being excited about new dreams or plans, telling stories, finding new stories or enjoying cute, visible details of the world. Sometimes it's just me, alone, with a cup of coffee and things to think through and planes not made yet but waiting in a really long line.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've heard once the opinion "I read many good books but (and so) my rule is 'no bestsellers'"(and I disagree). Another time heard someone saying: "every book is worth reading because a writer felt that all what has been written in this particular book was worth sharing. If a person comes to you with a story, you should enjoy her/his will of sharing it because this person's point of view is that there is something important to share, important enough to write a book!". To truly believe in a latter opinion makes me a really bad critic. While reading a book or watching a movie, I try not to ignore the intention of an author and find something valuable. So, I don't believe that such a thing as a "bad book" exists as long as authors write with honest intention.
Among my favourite books are the ones written by Olga Tokarczuk, Hanna Krall, Siegfried Lenz, Elfriede Jelines, Vladimir Nabokov, Boris Pasternak, Junot Diaz, Beata Pawlikowska, William Wharton, Bodil Malmsten, Jostein Gaarder, Abigail Thomas, Hubert Klimko-Dobrzaniecki, Maciej Wasilewski & Marcin Michalski, Randy Pausch, Haruki Murakami, Henry James.
The book that is absolutely close to my heart is "The orange girl" by Jostein Gaarder. I would call it my "bookish anthem".

I am permanently impressed by movies: "The science of sleep" by Michel Gondry, "Doctor Zhivago" by Giacommo Campiotti, "Micmacs" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress" by Sijie Dai, "Departures" by Yôjirô Takita and a lot, lot more. I'd love to watch "Jamón, jamón" by Bigas Luna but it is so hard to find!

I like spending my time with Norah Jones singing to my ears. It feels right when I listen to the songs sung by Melody Gardot, Sigur Ros, Seabear, William Fitzsimmons, Feist, Joni Mitchell and many others. Also world music is definitely my cup of tea! I am addicted to the old, old songs.
