About Me

Like bikes, beer, board games, or boats? Let's hang out!

Proud owner of Moon Colony dot Org. I've never done much with the domain but I saw it was available ~15 years ago and bought it and I've kept it ever since. I saw a boost in traffic once when John McCain ran for president and promised a moon colony.

To me the idea of a moon colony represents boundless optimism, hope, and a playful delightfulness in the creativity and ingenuity of humanity. A recognition that, no, things aren't currently perfect but we're still working things out, we have a good future to work toward and we'll figure it all out someday.

I like riding bikes and programming. I've got all sorts of little projects. I've got a TV set up with floppy disks where you can put a disc in and play a random episode of a series. It is more fun to dig through a physical pile of floppy disks than to scroll through a digital list.

I've got a goofy game called coin wars. You put coins on a table and play heads vs tails flicking the coins trying to knock all your opponent's coins off. You can use sharpies to mark coins and play with more players for a fun party variant. Some coins have special abilities - like a dime will convert a coin from heads to tails, or a nickel will immobilize a coin so your opponent can't use it on their next turn. It is a fun game to play at bars to kill time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a house with extra rooms. Friends often travel through Seattle and I enjoy putting them up for a bit. It is fun to meet new people and hear about things going on in my own town I wouldn't otherwise know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Borrow a bike to cruise around town. My house has key codes so you can come and go as you please. I'm generally busy working or having fun. I prefer guests that are highly independent doing their own thing. The more independent you are the more likely I am to join and add on! ":0)
