ABOUT ME
New Orleans-based, animal lover, entrepreneur, who happens to be a twin, and loves to be outdoors. My favorite things include: dog walks on the levee, drinking tea, riding my bicycle, and cooking for friends.
I am currently traveling in China with my folding bicycle. I’ll be arriving in Hong Kong on May 9 and then flying to Yunnan on May 13. I plan to take trains and bicycle around Yunnan until the end of June. I’m especially interested in exploring Chinese tea culture.
I'm a very nice person - a giver. I was born year of the monkey. I am both fire and water. I often contradict myself. I've traveled a good deal. I'm open and accepting of most anything. I like to read. I am a student of history. I like to draw, paint, bric-á-brac, bricolage, n'importe quoi. I like the colors pink and green. I don’t have any class, but I belong to one. I'm a fox; but when I'm feeling bad, the cockroach is my spirit animal and Kafka my spiritual adviser. My interests are many: What hathe been of olde times yore, a French ideal of mediocrity, a knowledge in many, a specialization in none. That's me in a (nut shell) d-:
PHILOSOPHY
"In my house I have 3 chairs: one for solitude; two for company; three for society" (Henry David Thoreau)
"I am a human being, and nothing human is alien to me" (Terence, c. 2 BCE)
"The nomad does not need to go anywhere, but needs to be on the move" (Turkish proverb)

Music, Movies, and Books
There is great movie by Orson Wells called, F for Fake (1973), an "investigation of the natures of authorship and authenticity, as well as the basis of the value of art".
And a great movie on the emergence of graffiti culture in NYC--Style Wars (1983).
Documentary on Vogue in NYC in the early 80s “Paris is Burning”
Another great movie on ills of consumer culture: thestoryofstuff.com (please watch it-its only 25 minutes long and everyone should watch this movie). Also: Food INC - great movie - even my parents agreed to watch and were greatly impressed.
Botany of Desire: a book about the history of four successful plants (apple, tulip, marijuana, potato); their success on the planet has resulted by their ability to manipulate the Apollonian and Dionysian desires of humanity - a history from a plants perspective.
