About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel to as many places as possible before I embark on my journey through the perils of graduate school...

ABOUT ME

I'm easygoing, friendly to everyone I meet, diplomatic, helpful, trusting, and knows everyone has a story that needs to be told. Hearing and sharing stories of travels is one of my favorite pastimes!

PHILOSOPHY

I am, and always will be a student of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

4 months of consistent couchsurfing, though not through CS. While traveling after college, I met many amazing people and families that hosted me across Europe. Hopefully I can make better use of CS this year to travel more!

Interests

Horse back riding, the outdoors, turning strangers into friends, neuroscience, yoga, hiking, my Hungarian Vizsla, exploring new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I couchsurfed (unfortunately not through CS) for 4 months in Europe. I traveled to Holland, Norway, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Poland. I didn't have access to internet for the most part, so I had to rely on kind strangers opening up their homes the entire time. I wasn't without a place to stay even one night, and every few nights I was with new people... it's the BEST way to travel.

Other than that, at the end of my 4 months, I participated in an "Amazing Race-esque" challenge where myself and two team members had to make it from Rome to Paris in 8 days with no money, credit cards, phone, computer, plan, or food... just some clothes on our backs and a case of Red Bull. We had to "trade" our way from Rome to Paris with Red Bull as our currency. It was amazing, challenging, and 8 days of self discovery... but we made it! =)

Teach, Learn, Share

"Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it." ~Andre Gide

"I am pretty solid on my decision that I prefer questions to answers. They are much more fun, much more interesting. Questions leave room for wonder, for ideas, for possibility. Answers kill those possibilities, they limit you to one certain demise. I see no reason to always resort to answers, since answers are just something we made up in the first place, and we believe them to be true because we have lost our imaginations, and it too much work to think otherwise..."

"Through all the ups, all the downs,
Some will be there, some can't be found.
If they won't care as they should, so be it.
This is life in the way that I wish to see it. "
Edward Veilleux

“... indecision brings its own delays, and days are lost lamenting over lost days. Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute; What you can do, or dream you can, begin it; Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” -Goethe

Serendipity...
Did you ever wish for something so badly, but you knew that it was completely out of your control, out of your reach. You knew that it would be a one in a million chance for your wish to come true? How is it then, that these things sometimes come true? Does it mean that there is something bigger out there that took into consideration what it was you wanted? Or did you want this event to take place so badly because you knew somewhere in your heart it was meant to be, and that’s why it became a reality? Or is it just complete happenstance? Could you call it serendipity? I have so many questions, and so few answers... I suppose that’s the fun of life. :)

I am convinced that there are no bad experiences in life. There is always something good, something more importannt that springs from our “bad” experiences than the experience itself. We always learn from the encounters that we have in life, and it helps us make more distinctions to our preferences, and therefore yeilds a better quality of life with the growing amout of experiences we have.
