About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Aspiring teacher and world traveler.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty direct, generally very friendly, and extremely animated. I grew up in the Rust Belt...a Great Lakes mermaid. Where people come from is very interesting to me. (No surprise, I guess, being that I am on a *couch surfing* site...) I left Michigan when I was 30 to move to New York City, where the internet saved my liberal arts a$$. Jersey City fits my Midwestern sensibility...the buildings are a little shorter, the streets a little wider, and the people will look you in the eye and say, "Good morning."

PHILOSOPHY

Let's start with, "Do no harm." Then, "Peace begins with a smile." You can take the path of fear, or you can take the path of love. And if you don't want to call it love, call it "heart." Laugh hard often.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted, I've surfed, I've conquered...in a friendly sort of way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've now hosted and surfed (not to mention all the times that came before there was a website to make the magic happen), and it pleases me immensely that open-hearted people actually exist in abundance.

Interests

Things that move, rust, artichokes, bollywood, belly dancing, trying new food, having random conversations with cab drivers, anticipation.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yep, love 'em, and consume all, with gusto.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding a camel in the Sahara Desert, after staying up late drinking wine and watching shooting stars...in the Sahara Desert, man! Wow. I'm so lucky. Because there are amazing things that I see everyday. Sunsets stop me in my tracks. I watched a flock of birds fly a figure-8 over my block yesterday. Pinecones are cool. What an amazing world we live in -- I feel lucky that I get to see it that way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very interested in lots of things, so let's see who comes through the door...

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, India, Morocco, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
