About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding my way back home via the scenic route.

ABOUT ME

I must be from pioneer stock, I love being in new places and meeting new people. I'm an introvert who's learning to be more extrovert, am super considerate of other people, I travel ultra light and have a small footprint. My philosophy is to leave a place better than I found it. Love all things tech but I also love nature. I love music (can make noise on random musical instruments), love philosophy, cultural anthropology, architecture, photography, and movies. Love animals (no bad allergies) and child-friendly (I don't have any children of my own, so I'm not super casual around them but they don't frighten me and they don't annoy me at all). I'm vegan and in good shape, no health issues and no addictions (except traveling, but I don't want to kick that one).

PHILOSOPHY

If it's alive, lets embrace it. If it hurts, lets learn from it. Wow, what's that over there?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to observe first before jumping in. I'm easy going and love adventure. Not afraid to make a fool of my self, I love to learn more about the world around me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to CouchSurfing, but I've been couch surfing with friends and relations, ready to make new friends, see new countries, learn new languages. Been doing more of that since touring with my documentary film all last year (2011). My favorite pre-CouchSurfing experiences have been with new people in countries where English is not that common.

Interests

Photography, movies, bicycling, software (but I'm a noob snack when playing videogames), hiking, climbing, laughing, dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: the Beatles, Led Zep, Carpenters, Genesis (Peter Gabriel), Merle Travis, John Prine, k.d. lang, Sarah Vaughn, Thelonius Monk, Pat Metheny, Paco de Lucia, Aimee Mann, Django. Movies: Baz Luhrmann, p.t. anderson, Cohen Brothers, Jim Jarmusch. Books: Cyberpunk, historical fiction, philosophy, physics non-fiction, comics, graphic novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've made a documentary film and traveled around the world showing it to happy people in music clubs. I've met sooo many cool people doing that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn new languages and hear stories. I love to teach photography and filmmaking. I want to learn how to cook (and I will prep food and wash pots and dishes in exchange for your teaching). If you want, I'll be happy to fix computer and network problems and will tell you when I can't. I'm very interested in learning about gardening, carpentry, and building construction, so put me to work!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
