About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live without boundaries.

ABOUT ME

I've lived in Grand Rapids for 9 years and have found so many great places. I went to school to become an art teacher because art is all i have ever done! I started when I was about 3 and haven't stopped since.

I love to eat, drink, and talk with friends. I love to talk philosophy, movies, books, anything at all! Just don't get me started on public education.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for my family and friends and to experience new things. We have all had amazing experiences and gained interesting knowledge, so why not share it with each other?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Please note! My life is very unpredictable, so if you'd like to come stay with me, I really require at least a weeks notice before hand. Otherwise, I can almost guarantee that I won't be available or someone else might be staying with us. My house is sort of a hotel sometimes!!!

Aside from all that, I'm very excited about CS!!! I love the idea of travelers and locals meeting and sharing places and experiences. This project encompasses everything I enjoy about traveling and meeting new people. I look forward to showing someone around my town and improving their experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was fortunate enough to make some new CS friends in Eugene, OR. last summer. What a great experience!

I've also had a few lovely gentlemen surf my couch this year. It's amazing to make new friends this way. Kindred spirits finding each other via surfing... I love it.

Interests

ART ANYTHING! Enameling, ceramics, metal smithing, knitting, weaving, sewing, photography.

Climbing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fly fishing and camping.

I love eating at new places and trying new cuisine.

High Fidelity, Big Trouble in Little China, Chocolat, Amelie, Angel-A, The Chumscrubber, The Matrix (ah, high school), Lock, Stock and Two Smocking Barrels

The Ramayana, The Fountainhead, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen Chichen Itza, the Mayan ruins. That was amazing. I have climbed to the top of Seneca Rocks (with my mom, awesome). Everything about Italy was beautiful and delicious. The ruins of Ephesus in Turkey, the Acropolis, Delphi in Greece... The Burren in Ireland, the castle in Trim where my family is from, Guinness, sweet, sweet Guinness...

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm moderately good at most craft things. Knitting, crochet, weaving, jewelry making, sewing (i can patch things for you and fix some broken jewelry!). I can teach how to draw and do pottery on the wheel if given proper time and resources.

i'd love to learn more about glass bead making, more about sewing, and hat making. And anything else you know that i don't!
