About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Once in a whole, it really hits people that they don't have to experience the world in the way they have been told to.

ABOUT ME

Hi there!

Thank you for coming over!

My name is Boris. I'm an entrepreneur and an avid traveler. Originally from Lithuania, but currently living in New York.

I love to travel and explore, which is why Couchsurfing is such a dear concept to me. Over the past few years, I've had an opportunity to travel to some really amazing places and have done things like drive from South Africa to London in a 1980 Land Rover, cycle through New Zealand, live and work in India, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and China. As much as opportunity allows, I try to build travel into my lifestyle.

My work generally focuses on startups and the alternative transportation sector. Most recently, I've been a park of the first person-to-person carsharing startup that launched in the United States. Now, I'm working on an electric bicycle startup to make cycling easier for more people - EVELO (www.evelo.com).

If you're curious, I have a little page with all of the cool projects I've had the privilege of being involved with over the years: http://about.me/borismordkovich

PHILOSOPHY

Once in a whole, it really hits people that they don't have to experience the world in the way they have been told to.

People tend to overestimate what they can do in a day and underestimate what they can accomplish in a year.

People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don't deserve them, or that they'll be unable to achieve them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the Spring/Summer of 2012, I did a bike trip from New York to San Francisco during which I stayed primarily with Couchsurfers and Airbnb'ers - and that was an amazing experience. I've also hosted a few folks in my apartment in the U.S.
